“A Nutcracker Story”
In December, CDA will celebrate Christmas with the production of “A Nutcracker Story.” All students will participate in classes, but may opt out of the on stage performance if they so desire. There is $60 fee pertaining to the Nutcracker that covers everything except $8 tickets and $15 character piece rentals. Specific due dates will be provided in September when we give out our Winter Newsletter.
Main Characters
The following main characters will be selected by CDA's teachers. Dancers cannot be chosen two years in a row for main character roles. Elite dancers are eligible for these roles. There is a chance a recreational dancer can be chosen in the event that all other Elite in that level were main characters the previous year. All main characters will record the narration together and those videos will be shown between each dance at the show. A meeting will be scheduled when all dancers and parents can be present.
Important Commitments

Rehearsals - Special rehearsals will be Monday-Wednesday on the week of Nutcracker. These are mandatory and vital for all dancers to attend. If they are missed, your dancer will not know what to do at Dress Rehearsal. Please see the events on our app to view the schedule.
Dress Rehearsal - Mandatory for all dancers and will take place the day before the show at the venue. Everyone must wear their leotards, tights, shirts, hair and makeup just like it is the real show.
A Nutcracker Story Show Day - Your Dancer’s BIG DAY! After the dress rehearsal, everyone will be excited and ready to go!
