CDA's Competition Team

We call ourselves the Elite Tribe.

CDA’s Elite program allows dancers to use their passion to fine tune their dancing and progress through more challenging classes and educational experiences. Being an Elite dancer requires a strong commitment from the dancer as well as the parents. In addition to choreography sessions and extra rehearsals (some of which are on Saturdays), Elite dancers will attend at least three regional competitions and one dance convention each season. There is also the possibility of attending a nationals competition during the summer.

Email us at dancecda.info@gmail.com if you are interested in more information about CDA’s Elite Competition Team. Auditions are held the week after our Spring Showcase.

We will be hosting a Virtual Parent Meeting on May 12th where we will answer all your questions!

All current students may register in there Parent Portal under the Summer 2022 season.

What They’re Saying About Competition Dance

Candase Wilkins 2021

"When Courtney first approached us about participating in Elite, my first thought was, Emmalyn is too young. My second thought was, I don't know that I am cut out to be a competitive dance mom. My only knowledge of dance moms was television.  At that time, the classes were structured differently and we chose to understudy (take the more advanced classes but not compete). Not only did Emmalyn's dance skills improve but also her confidence.

The next year we decided to let her compete. Our thought was if she didn't like it, we could check it off the list and move on to something else. It is funny to think of that now. If you have seen my child in front of an audience, you know what I mean! Emmalyn loves the stage and Elite gives her much more stage time! She loves getting to learn the more difficult choreography and having the opportunity to be with the older dancers as well as her friends. It is mind blowing how much she has improved over the past few years!

As for me and being a competitive dancer mom… it was not what I thought at all. We are a family, a tribe, a team ourselves that work together to help our dancers be their best! We share snacks and bobby pins and even stop each other's children from misbehaving if needed. We cheer together during performances and bite our nails waiting for results. We celebrate each other's triumphs and persevere together through adversities both on and off the dance floor.

The bottom line is, if you have a dancer who loves the stage and is ready to be challenged, why not give Elite a chance? You might be as surprised as I have been!"
